Roar To The Top: How To Write LLM-Optimised Content (Without Going Bananas)

Posted by Tiger Marketing on 29 July 2025

In today’s digital jungle, it’s no longer just about impressing Google’s algorithm. Web traffic from AI searches increased by 527% between January and May 2025, so your content’s really got to charm the big AI beasts: ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Microsoft Copilot if you want to get noticed.

These Large Language Models (LLMs) are the new apex predators of search, and if your content isn’t built to prowl alongside them, you’ll end up as prey.

Let’s sharpen those claws and break down what’s needed for LLM-optimised content – Tiger Marketing-style…

1. Don’t just parrot, use semantic keywords

So, your main keyword might be ‘digital marketing agency’, but repeating that like a parrot on a loop won’t impress anyone, and it’ll be boring and clunky to read, too.

You need semantic keywords: contextually related terms that signal to the AI, ‘Hey, I know the whole jungle, not just one tree’.

So, instead of:

‘We’re a digital marketing agency’

Try:

‘We help businesses grow through SEO, social media, content strategy, and email marketing.’

It’s like giving the AI a full safari map, not just one trail to follow.

2. Answer Engine Optimisation: Feed the AI bite-sized bananas

Back in the day, search engines would take the word or phrase you’d searched for then give you a list of websites to explore. You would do the hard work of hacking through the undergrowth to find the treasure – trying different sites to find the specific info you wanted.

Now, LLMs have turned online search results into your personal jungle guide. AI overviews give tailored answers to what you’re searching for – they’re hacking through the undergrowth for you, in other words.

This means our searches are now longer and more conversational;  rather than typing a 2-3 word phrase, it’s all about full questions and follow-ups.

What you need is Answer Engine Optimisation (AEO): structuring your content to answer users’ questions quickly and clearly, to make it easier for AI to grab and present your insights.

Here’s how to present your content to match how users are searching:

  • Use questions as subheadings
  • Answer in 1–2 clear sentences
  • Be concise – don’t waffle

Example:

‘What services does Tiger Marketing offer?
We help ambitious brands grow through SEO, paid media, content marketing, and creative branding strategies.’

3. Let the tiger roar – show your authority

Time to roar like a tiger, not squeak like a cub. That means rich, original, well-informed content, so include:

  • Concrete results backed up by stats, e.g ‘87% of our clients saw growth within 3 months’
  • Case studies and success stories
  • Original takes and confident, bold messaging

Show the AI you’re the real deal and it’ll start treating your content like gospel.

4. Sssslip in semantic SEO

Remember those semantic keywords? Semantic SEO means thinking beyond one phrase or term and creating content that’s rich with context and related ideas. You’re weaving a web of knowledge that AI can latch onto and understand.

For example, if your topic is ‘email marketing’, add terms like:

  • Open rate
  • Click-through rate (CTR)
  • Automation tools
  • Subject line testing
  • CRM segmentation

The more varied and natural your language, the better LLMs can figure out your topic and trust your expertise.

5. Let AI help, but keep humans in charge

AI tools like ChatGPT are brilliant assistants – but not rulers. They’ll help you brainstorm, speed up research, or draft sections for you, but it’s your creative team who add:

  • Brand voice
  • Human warmth
  • Strategic insights and real-world examples

Always review AI-generated work with a sharp human eye, because AIs don’t know your brand, industry or audience like you do. They don’t have your data, individual expertise and little gems of insight specific to you and your business – and it’s those details that will hook in your reader.

6. And remember: E-E-A-T content is still king of the jungle

AI tools, Google and – most importantly of all – your audience are still looking for content that shows your Expertise, Experience, Authority and Trustworthiness. Which is why keeping the human touch is non-negotiable.

How to ace your E-E-A-T:

  • Use accurate, trustworthy sources to show your expertise
  • Add case studies and customer reviews to your content to highlight your experience
  • Get those backlinks and mentions from other reputable sources to prove your authority
  • Add testimonials and clear contact info to show you’re the real deal and highlight your trustworthiness

7. Test yourself: Do you know how to spot an AI-written blog?

There’s a lot of forgettable AI-written articles out there, but knowing how to avoid the dead giveaways will help you create content that puts you at the top of the food chain.

Spot the signs of AI blogs with no human touch:

  • Lots of very long dashes
  • Emojis galore
  • Topics in bold
  • Flat, generic tone of voice
  • Title Case For Every Heading and Subheading
  • Low on substance – a lot of words saying not very much
  • ‘Facts’ that turn out to be incorrect or have no clear source

This doesn’t mean you can’t use dashes, emojis or title case ever again. Just make sure if you’re using AI to create content, you’re training it on your brand voice and preferred house style, and remember to edit with a ruthless human eye.

Final ROAR: Your AI jungle survival checklist

Here’s your TL;DR (‘too long; didn’t read’)…

🐾 Use semantic keywords to show depth and topic knowledge
🐾 Structure your content to answer real questions quickly and concisely
🐾 Create content with depth, credibility and personality
🐾 Use Answer Engine Optimisation (AEO) to feed AI-friendly formats
🐾 Let AI assist, but always keep your humans behind the keyboard

Get this right, and you won’t just survive in the AI jungle; you’ll cut a path through the undergrowth and forge ahead of the herd.
